Job description

The Interaction Technology programme, teaches smart technology and new media to create impact through design focusing on the analysis, design and evaluation of new generations of intelligent interactive systems that have social awareness and are designed to meet user needs. Subjects include spoken dialogue systems, social signal processing, virtual and augmented reality, wearable interfaces, ambient entertainment, virtual agents and social robotics. We are looking for ambitious, highly qualified academics who can combine innovative teaching and cutting edge research in the rapidly evolving area of interaction Technology. Is that you?

Teaching: You will be involved in the interdisciplinary BSc programme Creative Technology and the MSc Interaction Technology (currently named Human Media Interaction). These programmes focus on the design of innovative applications using a profound knowledge of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. Smart technology, new media, and creating impact through design are keywords in this program. Students learn how to use cutting-edge technology or new media to create interactive applications that will contribute to users’ health, convenience and enjoyment. Throughout these English-taught programmes students will learn to creatively combine different technologies in order to create new solutions with real impact on people. The programmes aim to educate researchers, designers and entrepreneurs.

Research: Interaction Technology looks into the interfaces between humans and (digital) technology. It studies how humans and technology mutually affect each other. Technology that can sense and interpret human behavior is one of the corner stones of the programme: from speech recognition to wearables. Interaction takes many forms, ranging from interaction with virtual agents in augmented and virtual reality to interaction with robots and smart objects in ambient environments. We study interaction both from b a technological and human-centered perspective; from developing systems to studying the user's needs and evaluating the user experience.

Are you up for the challenge to teach on state of the art technology and to create high impact with your research?
