The research group Inflammation (head: Prof. Dr. Christian Herder) at the Institute for Clinical Diabetology (director: Prof. Dr. Michael Roden) at DDZ is inviting applications for an Epidemiologist/Statistician/Biometrician.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to coordinate, plan and conduct analyses within clinical and epidemiological studies in the field of diabetes research in close collaboration with the Institute of Biometrics and Epidemiology (director: Prof. Dr. Oliver Kuss) at DDZ. The position is closely integrated in research lines of the German Center for Diabetes Research (DZD), which is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Applicants are encouraged to develop their own research projects and to lead or participate in local as well as international collaborations.
The ideal candidate has an MSc or PhD, a strong background in epidemiology, biostatistics, statistics or a related discipline and has demonstrated scientific productivity. Applicants should have a good expertise with statistical/bioinformatic software packages (SAS, STATA or R). The applicant will have a high affinity for biomedical and translational research, will be familiar with working in an interactive/interdisciplinary team and have good communication and organisation skills. Experience with high-dimensional data and high proficiency in written and spoken English are strong advantages.

The position is initially limited until December 2020. An extension of the contract is envisaged. Remuneration and benefits are in accordance with the collective agreement for the public service (TV-L) for North Rhine-Westphalia.
