Project Leader for the Centre for Genetic Resources, the Netherlands (CGN)
Do you have a strong affiliation with animal breeding and conservation of farm animal genetic diversity? Are you a skilled project leader and do you like to work in multidisciplinary teams?

The Centre of Genetic Resources (CGN), funded by the Ministry of LNV, is an important part of our work. The main tasks of CGN are the development and management of gene bank collections, and advising breed societies and other stakeholders about conservation and sustainable use of genetic diversity. The Centre for Genetic Resources, the Netherlands (CGN) focuses on conservation and use of vegetable crops, farm animal breeds and autochthonous forest species (www.wur.nl/cgn).

We are looking for a new Project Leader who will play a central role in the management and further development of the CGN tasks related to animal genetic resources.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate who has
  • a strong affiliation with animal breeding and conservation of farm animal genetic diversity;
  • MSc degree in animal sciences or related field;
  • good organizational and excellent communication skills;
  • contacts in relevant national and international networks;
  • project leaders skills and competences demonstrated by leading projects in a related to the conservation of genetic diversity in gene banks and breeding programs;
  • the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.

Conditions of employment

We offer
  • A position for at most 36 hours per week, for a period of 2 years with the intent to be extended.
  • Being part of excellent research team in a contract research organisation.
  • Salary depends on the qualifications and experience with a gross maximum of salary group 11. The salary is based on the Collective Labour Agreement of Wageningen Research.
  • We not only offer a competitive salary, but also good (study) leave and a pension of the ABP Pension Fund.
