Over the past years, the “right to be forgotten” has been the object of increasing attention and concern. As people realise how relentless the iron memory of the Internet can be, and how suddenly data from the past can re-emerge in unexpected contexts, many get a distinct feeling of unease.

What is a meaningful and effective way to shape and enforce the right to be forgotten? The research aim of this proposal is to identify the possible form(s) and implementation(s) of a right to be forgotten that can contribute effectively to safeguarding privacy and non-discrimination of individuals.
