We have an opening for a Ph.D. student on a research project focusing on the impact of bone microenvironment (mesenchymal stem cells, osteoblasts, adipocytes and extracellular matrix) on survival and expansion of umbilical cord hematopoietic stem cells and applying the findings to improve bone marrow transplantation. Special interest is in the mode of cross talk between bone cells and hematopoietic stem cells. This program is executed in close collaboration with the Department of Hematology at the Erasmus MC.
We are looking for a motivated Ph.D. student with a biology or biomedical background and expertise in molecular and cell biology. You need to be precise and creative.
We offer a position for 4 years. The gross monthly salary, dependent on education and experience, amounts to € 2.086,- in the first year to € 2.673,- in the fourth year based on a full-time working week. The terms of employment are in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement for University Medical Centers (CAO UMC).
