The Department of Decision and Information Sciences is looking for a highly-qualified, self-motivated
post-doctoral fellow in the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University to participate in the
“Behavior Revenue Management in Information Networks” (BRIN) project. The research involves
revenue management and dynamic pricing in the environment where customer behavior information
becomes available through real-time transactions in complex networks (e.g., transport, telecom, banking).
In particular, this position will be funded by the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO).
The research will be carried out in close collaboration with Tsinghua University in Beijing, China.
Tasks
-The candidate is expected to carry out the following activities:
-Analyze empirical data and simulate emergent customer behavior
-Validate and extend the current simulation to evaluate dynamic pricing and revenue management strategies for transport networks;
-Contribute to the development of the BRIN project by research and publication;
-Manage partner contributions and participations to the BRIN project in a regular basis.
We are looking for a candidate who meets the following requirements:
-A PhD degree in management science, information systems, econometrics, computer science, or a related field;
- Training or work experience in statistics, econometrics, data mining, or network analysis;
-Experiences in software design and implementation in Java environment;
-A proven record of recent publications in the international journals and conference proceedings;
-Excellent communication and cooperation skills and ability to work in a team;
-Project management experience is a plus.
The contract will be given for 18 months. The Erasmus University offers a salary according to the Dutch university standards, depending on qualifications and work experience that ranges between a minimum of 3195 Euros and a maximum of 4374 Euros gross per month (scale 11) for a postdoc for a full time position. The conditions are in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU), with a 38 hours working week.
