Job opening for an assistant or associate professor (tenure track) in the Sociology of Labour and Organization at the department of Sociology at the Erasmus University, Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
The department of Sociology of the Erasmus University provides a bachelor and master programme in Sociology. The master programme consists of two tracks: Sociology of Labour and Organization and Urban Sociology. The assistant/associate professor will teach in the Bachelor programme and in the Master track on Labour and Organization. The research of the department is organized aroud the following theme: Social Problems in Contemporary Modernity: Globalization, Individualization and Social Policy. The assistant/associate professor will participate in this program. The focus of research will be on organisational sociology, in particular the workings of public and private organizations within the context of the intitutions of the modern welfare state.
A Ph.D. in Sociology or a closely related field (e.g. Organizational Psychology or Public Administration) and research and teaching experience in the fields of organizational sociology and/or sociology of labour.
The contract will be running for a period of one year with the possibility of an extension.
Additional conditions of employment.
The conditions of employment correspond with the CAO Nederlandse Universiteiten (CAO NU)/Collective (wage) Agreement Netherlands Universities. Salary is subject to training and experience and corresponds maximum to Scale 12 CAO NU, with a maximum of € 4.970,- gross per month on a full-time (38 hour per week) contract for the Assistant Professor. In accordance with the CAO NU a placement in a starting grade is possible for a maximum duration.
In consultation with the department of Sociology there is a possibility to start at a contract on the basis of tenure track.
