The Office of Research, Projects and Advisory Services (ORPAS) is looking for a Project Officer Research who will contribute to development and implementation of the ISS research agenda and its embedding within national and international networks.

Employment conditions
In accordance with those applied at the Erasmus University Rotterdam and indicated in the Collective Labour Agreement (CAO NU) of the Dutch universities. Salary being dependent on the candidate’s experience ranges from € 3195 to € 4374 gross per month (CAO NU scale 11) under full-time contract. In addition, ISS pays an 8% holiday allowance and an end-of-year payment which is for 2010: 8.3 %.

The International Institute of Social Studies ISS is an international post graduate centre for higher education and research in development studies. It is one of the oldest and largest institutes of development studies in Europe. It pays particular attention to experiences and perspectives in the South but also explores questions of political and economic transition throughout the world. Post graduate teaching programmes are conducted in English at MA, Diploma and PhD levels. Since the 1st of July 2009, ISS is an institute within Erasmus University Rotterdam. ISS is located in The Hague.
The Office of Research, Projects and Advisory Services (ORPAS) is one of the five central offices in ISS supporting the Institute Board and academic staff in their (policies on) externally-financed assignments. In this field, ORPAS acts as liaison office with different parties in the Netherlands and overseas. The office is charged with management support to research groups, programmes and Centers and to teaching, capacity development, and advisory work projects. ORPAS is involved in project acquisition and network support, preparation of contract and budgets, and manages the ISS Innovation Fund.
