Job description

  • Participating in one or more of the Erasmus School of Law research programmes, projects and activities and supervising a PhD project
  • Giving an inaugural lecture upon accepting the chair and a valedictory address at the occasion of closure of the chair’s period
  • Publishing international articles in the capacity of the Erasmus Chair
  • Participating in public debates in order to contribute to the diffusion of knowledge of governance structures for reducing regulatory pressures, for example a yearly presentation at the Ministry of Economic Affairs
  • Modest but stimulating involvement within the School’s teaching domain
  • You will be assisted by a PhD student, which you can select yourself.

Requirements

  • doctorate diploma
  • International reputation in your field of expertise  
  • Ample research experience in regulatory studies   
  • Your research portfolio converges with the School’s research agenda.

Additional requirements (preferred)

  • Experience and/or significant interest in either comparative regulatory studies, economics, law and economics, or legislative policy issues 
  • Keen interest in combining insights from different branches of social sciences in legal research and education
  • A communicative and cooperative spirit
  • You enjoy sharing thoughts and insights with colleagues and feel it is your obligation to help junior researchers find their way in developing their research style.

Conditions of employment

The Erasmus Chair in Costs and Benefits of Regulation is an endowed chair, which implies that the contract runs for a period of four years. The chair is a 0.4 FTE position, which indicates a  preference by the Stichting Compliance, Toezicht en Regelgeving for a combination with another academic career track in Europe. The salary will be determined in accordance with the Institute and you.
