The vacancy is a research position within the field of mouse molecular genetics and the research will be carried out in the group of Jos Jonkers, in close collaboration with the other CSBC partners. In this project, we will employ transposon systems to perform high-throughput insertional mutagenesis screens in breast cancer cell lines and in mice, in order to identify novel genes involved in breast cancer development and therapy resistance.
We are looking for a enthusiastic postdoc with a strong background in molecular biology and affinity for functional genomic screens and analysis of large-scale datasets. Experience in laboratory animal handling (Article 9 or 12) and good communication and writing skills in English will be appreciated.
The temporary employment will be for a period up to four years. The gross monthly salary for a Postdoc will range from € 2.619,- to € 3.495,- according to function scale FWG 55 and depends on previous experience. The Cancer Systems Biology Center (CSBC)
The CSBC is a newly established research center within the NKI-AVL. The CSBC, which is funded by the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research, aims to develop systems biology approaches to tackle the complexity of molecular networks that govern breast tumorigenesis. Computational modeling will be combined with experimental validation in cell lines, mouse models and patients. The final goal is to deliver improved diagnostic tools to enable tailored cancer therapy.
The Center is a close collaboration between Molecular Biologists (Beijersbergen and Bernards labs), Mouse Cancer Genetics (Jonkers lab), Computational Biologists (Wessels lab) and the clinic.
