The Open University develops, provides and promotes innovative higher distance education of top quality, in collaboration with networks and alliances. As the prime university for lifelong learning, it addresses the wide-ranging learning needs of people during their course of life, plus the need to achieve a considerable increase of the knowledge level of the community at large.
The Open University is a distance teaching university that develops and offers educational programmes for adults. The Open University offers fully accredited Bachelor or Master degree programmes in Law, Management, Computer Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Cultural Sciences, Learning Sciences and Psychology.
There are 26.000 students currently studying at the Open University and 750 employees are working for our organisation. The Open University is organised in Heerlen and have study centres in the Netherlands and in Belgium (Flanders).
