Job description
The Research Centre for Behavior and Neurosciences (CBN) of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences has two vacancies for tenure track assistant professor. CBN participates in the Graduate School of Science for the PhD training programme.
Each candidate is expected to initiate new research within the area of behavior and neurosciences. He/she is able to acquire external research funds. He/she is able to establish (inter)national collaborations in this field. He/she is a dedicated teacher who can motivate students. Teaching duties include contributions to (practical) courses and the supervision of bachelor, master and PhD students.
Requirements
The candidate should have a PhD degree in a relevant field of Behavioral and/or Neurosciences. He/she has published in internationally recognized, leading journals. He/she has good teaching skills, is fluent in English and has a good knowledge of Dutch, or is willing to learn this language within a time frame of two years. He/she has at least two years of research experience abroad. As of 1 January 2009 the so-called BKO (Basis Kwalificatie Onderwijs = Basic Qualification Education) has been made obligatory for scientific personnel and it has become a condition for the promotion to all professor ranks. The BKO must be acquired within three years.
Conditions of employment
The University of Groningen offers a salary dependent on qualifications and work experience up to a maximum of € 4374 (CAO-NU scale 11) or € 4970 (CAO-NU scale 12) gross per month for a full-time position.
