Job Faculty of Arts - PhD positions at the Graduate School for the Humanities (9,0 fte)

The Graduate School for the Humanities offers 9 full-time PhD positions in the following fields:

5,0 fte in the field of Literary and Cultural Studies (including History, International Relations and Journalism)
3,0 fte in the field of Linguistics
1,0 fte in the field of Mediterranean Archaeology.

The University of Groningen offers a salary with a minimum of € 2,042 gross per month for a full-time position in the first year and a maximum of € 2,612 in the last year of the appointment. PhD positions are for four years on a full-time basis (contract for 18 months, with an extension of 30 months after a positive evaluation). The PhD will follow a tailor made research training programme of 20 ECTS and will write a doctoral dissertation. The successful candidates may be asked to do some teaching.

The appointment starts preferably September 1st, 2010.
