Job description
As a PhD student you will work on the project ‘ICT reading intervention’, a project that is part of the FES Programme Brain & Cognition (see
http://www.hersenenencognitie.nl). The focus of this project will be on the optimal benefits of training in a computer-supported intervention programme for poor readers in primary school in the Netherlands. Guidelines for optimizing an existing adaptive computer-supported intervention programme will be derived from a series of formative training experiments with children with reading problems at various grade levels. In these experiments, the focus will be on the benefits of speed training of sublexical units (phonemes, syllables, morphemes), words, sentences and text. In subsequent summative studies, an adapted version of the programme will be tested in an early intervention of reading problems in grade 1 and in remediation of poor readers in subsequent grades.
