Job SKF - Automotive Concept and New Product Development Engineer

As Automotive Concept and New Product Development Engineer you fulfill a key role in the idea generation, exploration and definition of innovative automotive products and systems, and as such play an important role in the success of SKF’s future automotive products. You will become a member of the Concept and New Product development team and will have frequent contact with external parties that are involved in advanced concept and product development. The ADC Concept and New Product development team drives innovation for each major Automotive Application Area, varying from Trucks to Two Wheelers, from combustion engine components and sub-systems, to innovative transmission systems.

You will share your time between exploring technical trends, the generation of new innovative product ideas, the generation of new product concepts as well as the embodiment design of these product concepts. You will contribute to the development of future Intellectual Property of SKF by the application of patents and the formulation of IP strategies.

• You have an academic degree in a technical discipline, preferable Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics.
• You are a self-motivated pro-active team worker.
• You have an innovative and creative mindset with excellent technical skills.
• Proven track record in concept and product development of mechanical and / or mechatronic systems.
• Experience with design and development of Automotive systems is a plus.
• You have experience with Pro-Engineer.
• You have excellent communication skills and a good command of the English language.
• You have a minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience.
• You have experience with Design for Six Sigma. Being a green belt is a plus.

At present the Automotive Development Centre consists of 30 highly skilled and motivated people, located in St-Cyr in France and Nieuwegein in the Netherlands.
