PhD student in the recently started research group of dr. L. Gutierrez-Gutierrez, to perform research on the project: “Transcriptome-wise dendritic cell manipulation”. In this project, we aim to unravel the role of Gata1 in the development, generation and function of dendritic cells. With this purpose, we make use of transgenic mouse models, proteomics, molecular biology and bioinformatics.

• An ambitious candidate with experience and/or interest in fundamental cell biology biomedical research, with no fear for bioinformatics and willing to learn different techniques.
• Flexibility to travel and perform part of the research (short stays –up to 2 months-) in collaborating labs.
• In possesion of art. 9 (animal course, The Netherlands) or willing to take it once the PhD program has started.

• Salary and employment conditions according to the Sanquin CAO regulations.
• Contract for 4 years.
• 36hr working week.
• 6.73% end-year salary.
• 186 holiday hours by fulltime contract.

The Department of Blood Cell Research (Head: dr. T.K. van den Berg) of Sanquin and the Landsteiner Laboratory of the Academic Medical Centre, University of Amsterdam, is focused on the biology and role of blood cells, amongst them phagocytes, red blood cells and platelets.
