Job
Technische Universiteit Eindhoven (TU/e)
- Full professor position in Separation Technology
Full professor position in Separation Technology
Job description
Introduction
The Chair 'Separation Technology' will focus on an integrated approach towards modern separation processes in the chemical industry. The Chair 'Separation Technology' will be embedded in the Cluster Process Engineering of the department Chemical Engineering andChemistry.
Research
The Chair aims to conduct experimental and theoretical research on (multi-component) phase behavior, leading to the development of advanced applications of new separation technologies and of novel equipment for industrial chemical processes and systems. Possible areas of research are related to the development and application of:
- new separation principles (driving forces, hybrid techniques);
- new separation materials (designer solvents, hybrid inorganic-organic materials as adsorbants or extractants);
- renewable or clean fossil materials as raw material and energy carrier (hydrogen storage, natural ionic liquids).
Education
The Chair will contribute in the department's bachelor program on Chemical Engineering and Chemistry in the field of, e.g., thermodynamics and transport and separation phenomena. In the department's master track on Process Engineering, the Chair will set up and contribute to courses on applied thermodynamics, systems engineering and process design.
Requirements
Requirements:
The candidate:
• has an excellent track record of scientific publications in the field of process technology and related areas of research (thermodynamics, separation technology, transport phenomena, phase behavior);
• is a certified teacher with experience in teaching and guiding of undergraduate, graduate and PhD students;
• has proven managerial abilities and excellent communication skills;
• maintains a good collaboration with different research groups and industrial partners;
• has international experience;
• has experience in defining research themes and in gaining the required external funding.
Conditions of employment
Conditions of employment
We offer:
• an infrastructure of the highest standards, including excellent scientific faculty, professional technical staff, and top-level experimental facilities.
• a full time tenure appointment
• a salary based on the rank of full professor plus 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end of the year allowance.
• attractive package of fringe benefits (good sport facilities, child care, etc.)
