Job description

  • Design, realization and characterization of RF Electronic circuits for generation, (de)modulation and detection of ultra-fast optical signals
  • Providing guidance for employees at measurements on RF electronic circuitry and support with the application of RF measurement equipment
  • To carry out measurements on optical/electronical (sub)systems and subsequent reporting
  • Contributions to on-going research activities
  • Support at demonstrations and preparing practical assignments, guidance of internships and student projects
  • Advisory role with the purchase of new laboratory equipment
  • To settle into and to keep up with the relevant scientific litterature 

    • Requirements

    We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications: 
  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Applied Physics
  • Knowledge of and experience with electronical RF measurement equipment (signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers), design skills in the area of RF electronic circuitry
  • Experience with FPGA programming appreciated
  • Affinity with research and educational activities
  • Proper command of the English language (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work independently, showing a service and problem solving oriented attitude
  • Well developed communication skills, ability to communicate on a scientific level with staff members as well as with students
  • Prepared to acquire new knowledge and to develop new skills

    Conditions of employment

    We offer you a position for 1 year, with an outlook for a permanent position at shown adequate performance. You will share a strongly motivated team. The salary will be based on your expertise, knowledge and experience and can count up to € 3422,- monthly (scale 9).
