Job description
Job Description
A key business driver across many process sectors is product differentiation through the process-derived creation and control of microstructures which confer consumer-perceivable functional attributes. Such products include formulated colloidal liquids found in the foods, home and personal care, and pharmaceutical sectors.
Process design, characterisation and optimisation are critical to the creation and control of such liquids' microstructures.
The Ultra Mixing and Processing Facility (UMPF) is a unique facility which provides a test bed for the evaluation of new process-inspired product opportunities. UMPF is realised through an £2.3M Open Innovation initiative (University of Liverpool, Mealstrom, and Unilever) which has attracted a government grant of £1.2M.
In a collaboration with Unilever, University of Liverpool and the University of Massachusetts, the candidate will be responsible for product driven process synthesis of emulsification systems to enable lowest cost process routes for high quality products as perceived by the consumers.

MSc in chemical engineering, physics or related areas.
