Job description

Initiator of high-level quality research and teaching in the area of Corporate Finance. Joins leadership team Maastricht University Finance Group, PhD supervision.

Requirements

A strong international reputation, top-level international publications in the relevant area, and an excellent network within scientific community and, possibly, industry.

Conditions of employment

Estimated maximum salary per month
€ 8622 in accordance with the Dutch salary scale for full professors, level 1. Salary in accordance with responsibility and experience. Additional funding available for attracting PhD’s and/or postdocs. Teaching load limited.

The Maastricht Finance Group has a strong research orientation, mainly in the field of empirical finance. Articles have been published in the international top journals (for example American Economic Review, Journal of Finance, Journal of Business, Review of Financial Studies, European Economic Review, Financial Analysts Journal, Real Estate Economics). The Finance Group also plays a key role in the Journal of Empirical Finance, is very active in the main scientific networks in Finance, and has been the host of some of its main conferences. The annual conferences of the European Finance Association (2004), the European Financial management Association (1994) and the American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association (1998) are examples of this. Besides the strong focus on research, the group also aims to provide the best Finance education possible, and has consistent top ratings in the school. The student population in Finance is international, with approximately 60% of students from outside of the Netherlands. Teaching is in English. Many of the activities of the group are performed in teams, and the group tries to foster such teamwork as much as possible.
