The Department of Cognitive Neuroscience is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic PhD student who wishes to combine rodent and human (f)MRI research. The successful candidate will analyse structural and functional MRI data of children whose mothers used SSRIs during pregnancy. This part of the project is based on a collaboration with the Department of Epidemiology of the Erasmus University Rotterdam. In parallel, the candidate will study serotonin transporter knockout rats and rats prenatally exposed to fluoxetine using high-field MRI as well as behavioural measures using emotional, cognitive and tactile paradigms. Besides these core issues the PhD-student will collaborate with scientists of a wide variety of disciplines, participate in international conferences, and prepare manuscripts for publication as well as a thesis at the end of the project.
