The Project IMPACT (implementing quality indicators for the organisation of palliative care for patients with cancer or dementia) is a European Union funded contract. The project will be carried out in close collaboration with three other research institutes and PhD students in other European countries and will run from February 2011 till February 2015. The PhD student is responsible for as well the scientific output, as for the organisation of the project. The PhD student will be reviewing literature collecting data in the Netherlands (qualitative and quantitative), analyzing data and writing scientific papers.
Academic degree (Health sciences, Medicine, social sciences), affinity with palliative and/or dementia care. Flexibility to work within different European research institutes for 1-3 months.

Two departments of the Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre collaborate intensively; IQ healthcare and the department for Anesthesiology, Pain and Palliative Medicine. They combine theory-driven research in the field of quality improvement, with clinical research regarding palliative care. IQ healthcare is an international centre of excellence for research, education and support in the field of quality, safety and innovation in healthcare.
