Job - Post Doc on Energy from Waste Combustion

We have an open position for a postdoc investigating and optimizing the energy efficiency of a waste combustion plant and to explore new and efficient ways for the application of the heat generated by the plant. The position is open for one year with the intention to extend it for another year depending on the results of the study. The study will be carried out in cooperation with one of the Dutch Waste Combustion companies.

The prospective candidate should have:

• A PhD in mechanical engineering, specialization in thermal engineering.
• A proven track record in evaluating energy flows and efficiencies of thermal conversion systems, including heat recovery systems such as boilers and turbines.
• Some experience with power plants and waste combustion plants.
• Some experience with heat applications, transport and storage.
• A demonstrated record of research productivity.
• Affinity with industrial partners.

We offer a challenging position in an inspiring multidisciplinary environment. As a postdoctoral researcher you will be appointed in a full-time position for one year. The gross monthly salary will be minimum € 2861,- and maximum € 4374,- depending on experience and background.
