Job University of Twente - Tenure Track position in Soft Matter, Fluidics and Interfaces

The candidate will lead a research team including PhD students. He/she will be responsible for the daily supervision and the project coordination. The candidate is expected to acquire funding for new research projects allowing him/her to setup an own research line. The candidate will be actively involved in educational activities, related to the candidate’s background and interests.

We are looking for a candidate with a PhD degree in chemical engineering, (fluid) physics or a related discipline with preferably (international) postdoc experience. The candidate should have affinity with (micro) fluid dynamics and interfacial phenomena, being able to convert fundamental understanding towards practical applications. The candidate needs to have a proven publication- and presentation track record. Good communication skills and curiosity are essential, while teaching experience is appreciated.

You will be appointed in a Tenure Track position [in accordance with Clause 6.5a of the Collective Labour Agreement - Dutch Universities]. A Tenure Track contract enables you to direct your own career based on fixed performance agreements, in which context promotion from UD (assistant professor) to UHD (associate professor) and subsequently to professor is possible. An initial appointment at UHD level is also possible for candidates with appropriate experience. A definitive assessment will take place no later than five years after commencement of employment after which, following a positive review, employment for an indefinite period will be granted.
