The lecturer will be working in the Neuropsychology group (www.neuropsychologie.nl) of the Division of Experimental Psychology, which forms one of the four divisions within the Department of Psychology. The group is engaged in interdisciplinary research and teaching in brain-behaviour relationship with a focus on studies with neurological patients. The research programme is strong in spatial cognition, perception, sensorimotor control, attention and consciousness. In the last research evaluation exercise we were overall assessed as excellent (quality: 4, productivity: 5, relevance: 5, viability: 5).
We teach in two undergraduate courses (BSc Psychology and BSc Humanities [UCU]), two MSc courses (MSc Neuropsychology, and the two-year research MSc Neuroscience and Cognition (www.neuroscience-cognition.org), the Helmholtz PhD programme, and post-graduate professional training programmes (GZ and Clinical Neuropsychology).
We are part of the Division of Experimental Psychology which has excellent research facilities, such as eye- and limb-movement registration, TMS, and EEG labs and access to MRI (1.5, 3 & 7 T).
The neuropsychology group is also responsible for the neuropsychology clinic at the University Medical Center which guarantees good access to patients for research and student training. The neuropsychology research programme is part of the Helmholtz Institute (www.helmholtz.uu.nl) of Utrecht University, one of the top (11th) research universities in Europe (see http://www.arwu.org/ for Shanghai ranking .
We offer a full-time position, initially for a period of two years, which, after a positive evaluation will be converted into a permanent position. The gross salary depends on qualifications and experience and ranges between € 3,195 and € 4,790 per month for a full time appointment (salary scale 11/12, Dutch Universities Conditions of Employment).
The salary is supplemented with an annual holiday pay of 8% and an end-of-year bonus of 8,3% per year. Other secondary conditions include e.g. a pension scheme, partially paid parental leave, and flexible employment conditions.
