The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at the UvA conducts international research in the fields of Accounting, Finance, Management, Economics and Econometrics. It also provides academic courses in these areas. The UvA Business School and the UvA School of Economics form part of the FEB. The Amsterdam Business School's Finance Group currently has a vacancy for a lecturer.
Excellent candidates from all major finance areas are welcome. We are looking for individuals with potential for exceptional teaching performance and broad interests in financial economics.
The main tasks of the succesfull candidate are teaching and teaching coordination in the (under)graduate, master and PhD programmes, as well as contributing to the further development of the department as a top group at an international level.
Among the requirements for this post are a PhD degree or a PhD near completion. You have considerable teaching experience. If the successful candidate does not speak Dutch she/he is expected to acquire a reasonable knowledge of the language within two years. However, most teaching in the department is in English. You are required to follow the Learning and Teaching in Higher Education Programme (LTHEP, in Dutch referred to as BKO), a system adopted by all Dutch universities.
The date on which the appointment is to begin will be determined by mutual agreement, preferably from 1 September 2010. The appointment will be for an initial period of one year, upon adequate functioning, the appointment may be prolonged.
The salary is negotiable, but will be based on the salary scales for lecturers at Dutch universities and be in accordance with the collective agreement regulating employment conditions at Dutch universities. The gross monthly salary will be between €2,379 (min. scale 10) and €5,390 (max. scale 13).
