The professor of microeconomics will have a key role in the coordination of the sequence of micro-economics courses in all years of the BSc and the MSc Economics, as well as for related applied economics courses.

In line with the department’s tradition and ongoing strategy to conduct high quality research, the candidate must have a clear track record of top quality research published in excellent international scientific journals. Also, the candidate is expected to supervise PhD students. For this, active participation in the PhD graduate school “Tinbergen Institute” is expected. Publications are in top international scientific journals, as defined by the Tinbergen’s journal ranking system. The candidate has experience in theoretical and empirical research.
  • ·         The candidate must play an active role in maintaining and further developing the department’s research profile by conducting high quality research, cooperating with other members of the department and by providing adequate PhD supervision.
  • ·         The candidate must show an active involvement in the international academic community and have strong international networks. The candidate must also be willing to represent the faculty and the department in the area of his or her expertise, and stimulate the further development of links between the faculty and the international research community.
  • ·         The candidate must be a stimulating teacher and must have had very good evaluations. The candidate is familiar with several modes of teaching (including lectures and PhD supervision).
