Job description

The Environmental Policy Group, within the in Department of Social Sciences at Wageningen University, has a strong international profile in the area of environmental social science and policy research and education. Our 15 staff and over 35 PhD students focus on topics associated with sustainable consumption and production, sustainable natural resource use and global environmental change. Research has a strongly international orientation with research conducted at the global level as well as in number of countries across Europe, Africa and Asia.The successful candidate will be responsible for some teaching duties and conducting internationally oriented research in their field of expertise. Applicants with a doctorate in sociology, human geography or political sciences which matches the research profile of the environmental policy group (see www.enp.wur.nl) will be considered for the position.

Requirements

• Doctorate in sociology or one of the related fields listed above• Experience in conducting research in an international setting• A proven ability to publish in international academic journals• Consideration will particularly be given to the recently graduated PhDs who can demonstrate their potential for innovative contributions in these areas• Excellent academic level written and oral skills in English, with a proven capacity to work effectively in an international team for research and education are essential

Conditions of employment

A fulltime position (38 hours a week) for a period of 2 years. Gross Salary: from € 2379,- to € 3755,- (scale 10), based on full time employment and dependent on expertise and experience. Wageningen University and Research Centre
