Organisation
Wageningen UR (University & Research centre)
ISRIC – World Soil Information leads international projects to develop a global soil information system (GSIS) through collection of legacy data and through geospatial data analyses. We are transforming our qualitative assessments into quantitative approaches. ISRIC has to further raise awareness in policy circles and society that soils play a key role in global issues like food production, climate change, biodiversity, production of energy crops, soil degradation and water management. To align the approach of our projects and to move towards a comprehensive GSIS, ISRIC aims to develop a methodology to quantitatively interlink the thematic issues with soils as a common denominator.
