Wageningen University & Research
The mission of our University is to explore the potential of nature to improve the quality of life. Within Wageningen University & Research, nine specialised research institutes from the Wageningen Research Foundation and Wageningen University have joined forces to help answer the most important questions in the domain of healthy food and living environment. With approximately 30 locations, 5,000 employees, and 10,000 students, it is one of the leading organisations in its domain worldwide. An integrated approach to problems and the cooperation between various disciplines are at the heart of the unique approach of Wageningen.

The Water Resources Management (WRM) group and Soil Physics and Land Management (SLM) group of Wageningen University and Research, The Netherlands are jointly looking for a lecturer for the programme International Land and Water Management for at least four years.

WRM is an interdisciplinary research and education entity focussed on the interactions of water, technology and society. We study integrated water resource management and governance questions in both the global South and North. Central in our study are questions as to how patterns of allocation and use of water can be explained as the combined outcome of technological choices, socio-ecological dynamics and cultural-political negotiation processes and other forms of socio-political interaction.

SLM addresses soil physical and hydrological processes at different temporal and spatial scales, and their central role in sustainable land and water management. Specific attention is given to flow and transport processes of water and solutes through and over soil systems and their effects on crops, vegetation and the groundwater, and how land users can sustainably optimize soil-water-plant conditions while preventing or restoring degradation of soil and water resources.
