Job description

The University Library is looking for an enthusiastic colleague who, for several faculties in the social domain, is a serious discussion partner in supporting scientific research and education.

The range of tasks includes:
-    You creatively connect information and data issues in research and education of the Faculties on the one hand, and the information services of the University Library on the other hand.
-    You are responsible for the literature collection of the domain and the promotion of its use.
-    You organise the communication and events needed to draw attention to services.
-    You ensure that the services and products of the University Library are delivered effectively, and you develop ideas and concepts for new products and services.
-    You support the impact of research by increasing the visibility of researchers and their scientific output.
-    You give face to face and online workshops for groups of students or researchers about the topics that the University Library stands for (such as academic and information skills, literature review, publication management, Open Access, Research Intelligence).
-    You will keep abreast of (inter) national developments in the field of scientific information provision, bibliometrics and analysis and explore how these can be used within the EUR.
-    You are actively involved in projects and participate in the strategic plans of the University Library.
-    You will work closely with other Faculty Liaison Librarians and the teams of Data & Publication Support and Education Support.
-    You are able to build and maintain a good network, within the aforementioned domain and outside the University, with (inter)national colleagues.

Requirements

•    A completed university education in a social science;
•    Familiarity with academic professional practice and the diversity in scientific publication cultures;
•    You have experience with bibliometric evaluation methods or you are willing to develop herein further;
•    You are result-oriented and inventive;
•    You communicate easily, are customer-oriented and like to take initiative;
•    You function well independently, but also perform well in a team setting; 
•    Good command of Dutch and English (C1 in accordance with CEFR)

Conditions of employment

•         A dynamic working environment with room for own initiative
•         A 1-year contract, with the possibility of extension or permanent employment
•         Salary in accordance with knowledge and experience, up to a maximum of € 4.978,- (scale 11, CLA DU)
•         8% holiday allowance and 8,3% end-of-year bonus
