Job description

Supporting academics and professional services staff by designing and managing effective and optimal applications.

Your main tasks
Our academics and professional services staff in the business school need our support to use applications effectively, so the role requires proactivity and reactivity in order for employees and students get the best possible experience from our applications. You understand what users try to achieve from a variety of systems, and what their education or research goals are so you can effectively design and manage applications.
  • Troubleshoot incidents with RSM-specific applications and help solve issues with EUR applications.
  • Support users by answering questions, provide instructions and training, and ensure the correct use of RSM applications.
  • Identify and assess optimisations for RSM applications in collaboration with research and education departments.
  • Oversee change as a result of improvements in RSM applications, or act as a key user for university-wide applications.
  • Testing during the acceptance phase of configured or built functionalities, in collaboration with end-users
  • Document work instructions and application-specific protocols.

Requirements

You are an experienced application manager who is both proactive and communicative. You enjoy the kind of contact with departments and colleagues that ensures optimal user satisfaction. You work in a structured manner in order to supply our business school with well documented applications which behave in a controlled and optimal way. You are flexible in your work because you understand that support for education and research is not a nine-to-five activity, even if that might happen outside of normal business hours or when you have planned other activities.

Your required competencies
  • Multiple years of experience as an application manager
  • Knowledge of system design, development, implementation, and user support principles and practices
  • Experience of application troubleshooting
  • Experience of leading and facilitating training
  • Experience of working in an academic environment is a big plus
  • Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
  • Fluent in English and Dutch (CEFR level C1)
  • Team player

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 1 year.

Fixed-term contract: 12 months

Contract type: 1 year

RSM's application management team is a small two-person team, within the Information Management & Consulting department.

The conditions of employment correspond with the collective labour agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU).

Salary is subject to training and experience and may vary from a minimum of

€ 2,656 gross per month (scale 8 CAO NU) and up to a maximum of € 4,402 gross per month (scale 10 CAO NU), based on a full-time contract of 38 hours.
