Profile

Erasmus Enterprise will be located on the EUR campus within the Q and N buildings. Our goal is to create one dynamic entrepreneurial community consisting of Erasmus Enterprise, our three subsidiaries: ECE, ERBS and YES!Delft, student and employee startup teams and other EUR related residents. We are looking for a Community Manager that will play a key role in developing and maintaining this vibrant and diverse on-site community. We are looking for someone that is communicative, hands-on and likes to run a tight ship within our community buildings. You have an open personality, you like networking and you enjoy and understand the dynamics that are inherent to communities. You know how to strengthen the community and provide a positive atmosphere withing our mutual home. You have commercial affinity and enjoy managing our room rentals. You appreciate new business initiatives and want to support their development by running daily operations smoothly. You have an understanding of facility management, experience in working with communities and community building, and are keen to apply this in an academic environment.

Role

In your capacity as Community Manager you maintain a close relationship with our community residents and are responsible for developing a thriving and close-knit EE Community on the EUR campus. In this capacity you are part of the Erasmus Enterprise team and report to the Team Lead & MarCom Erasmus Enterprise. You are the go-two-person on everything community related and make sure that you communicate frequently and effectively with our community members. Simultaneously you support community related communications between the residents themselves. To enhance these two-way internal communications, you also make smart use of digital platforms and communication channels. By creating community related content, you know how to engage our members in a creative way.

As Community Manager Erasmus Enterprise you are responsible for the daily operations within the community buildings on the EUR campus and make sure that all facilities (pantry, IT, cleaning) are taken care of. For this you maintain a good relationship with the Real Estate and Facilities (REF) management department of the EUR. You make sure that the buildings are always in a representative state and that they are properly maintained so that our residents can run their operations swiftly, and visitors like investors and partners feel at home in our energetic though professional environment. To achieve this, you know how to make sure that community rules are respected by our residents. 

You manage our room rental calendar and the rental agreements with our community members. You inform future residents about the rental possibilities and give tours of the buildings if necessary. By knowing the community well, you can easily answer all kinds of questions. With enthusiasm you explain what our community can bring to potential new startups and know how to sell the benefits of becoming part of our corporate home. Simultaneously you explain what is expected of our community residents.

Through your experience and within your capacity, through effective communications and efficient operations, you create the necessary energy that allows our community to thrive.

Requirements

  • You have a completed HBO or university degree
  • You are well-organized, flexible and a multitasker;
  • You have great social skills and are approachable, proactive and have effective communication skills;
  • You are amicable, a problem solver and at the same time you know how to make sure that our residents respect the community rules;
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English, both verbally and in writing;
  • You have commercial affinity and enjoy maintaining good customer relations;
  • You have an affinity for, or experience with facility and/or hospitality management;
  • You have experience in managing an on-site community or with community building and understand the sensitivity of having different organizations within one community;
  • An advantage: you have affinity with entrepreneurship, innovation or have worked at an incubator, startup community or startup facilitator;
  • An advantage: you have a knack for social media or experience with content management or the use of community platforms.

Erasmus Enterprise has three subsidiaries: Erasmus Center for Entrepreneurship (ECE), Erasmus Research and Business Support (ERBS) and YES!Delft.  Each of them bears their own responsibility for business operations and the proper performance of their own task. Together they strengthen the entrepreneurial climate within the university and provide for the development of entrepreneurial skills, incubation and validation programs and support for start-ups emerging from the EUR.
