We are looking for an internationally orientated assistant programme co-ordinator who will be responsible for the planning and organisation of the modules and courses in our part-time PhD programme for senior international business practitioners.

Job description

Our part-time PhD candidates continue working as they research for new knowledge in business. We need an assistant to help us co-ordinate their education programme and facilitate that new knowledge.

Your main tasks
What will the successful candidate be doing from day to day?
  • Schedule annual courses and modules for all cohorts
  • Contact lecturers for their availability and to confirm course content
  • Contact lecturers about providing course materials (pre-readings, books and assignments)
  • Upload course materials to the online platform, Canvas, in good time
  • Check availability of grades and upload to Canvas
  • Inform participants about the planning for courses and the availability of course materials
  • Update course guides and inform participants accordingly
  • Communicate with participants and lecturers about the course programme
  • Collect course evaluations and feedback for lecturers and the academic director.

Requirements

The ideal candidate takes satisfaction and pride in the meticulous organisation and preparations for study events, timetables and materials so that our part-time PhD students can use their study time effectively.

Your required competencies
  • Education to at least bachelor's level or equivalent
  • A driven organiser, multi-tasker and able to deal with the organisation of several courses simultaneously
  • Excellent spoken and written English and Dutch (C1)
  • Excellent IT skills and knowledge of software packages such as MS Office, and Excel, plus familiarity with organisational and work processes conducted online
  • Experience of working in an international context
  • Affinity and empathy with academic research and education
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously as well being an excellent team player; a flexible approach, pro-active attitude and a keen eye for detail are required too.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure while prioritising the workload.
  • Proven ability to interact, work and communicate with senior practitioners from a range of cultures and industry backgrounds.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 12.

A part-time role, 2.5 days per week, based in our office on campus. Right now, all educational programmes are prepared by colleagues working remotely at home and are conducted online, but when we are able to return to campus for face-to-face teaching, the assistant co-ordinator should also be on campus to assist.

Employment conditions
Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU). Monthly salary ranges between € 2,656 to € 3,548 (scale 8, based on the full-time employment), depending on education and work experience. EUR offers attractive secondary benefits, including a holiday allowance of 8 per cent, an end-of-year bonus of 8.3 per cent, and a generous number of vacation days.
