Job description

The Erasmus Alumni Relations team (EART) takes care of the connection between alumni, students, internal and external stakeholders. They develop and deliver targeted engagement programmes which inspires support for EUR's strategic priorities and creates benefit of our community.

We are looking for a data analytics and research officer. In this role, you will manage and improve the processes related to alumni data within EUR. Research, engagement and reporting will be the key drivers to be successful in this role. You will drive engagement using a data-driven approach, together with the Erasmus Alumni Relations Team and other internal stakeholders.

Your main tasks
  • Primarily focus on data analytics, processes and prospect research
  • Improve the data quality and consistency of our database of more than 100,000 alumni
  • Provide insights about our community using the data in our system and from other sources to drive engagement
  • Analyse, consult and develop streamlined processes to collect, manage and distribute data
  • Build a pipeline of engaged alumni and supporters connecting them with opportunities across the university and its schools
  • Support the team's strategic priorities and help the team navigate data and system challenges
  • Evaluate and report on the ongoing benefit and impact of specific initiatives ensuring continuous improvement and excellent customer experience
  • Collaborate with internal professional services and IT colleagues across the university to develop and customise systems and processes
  • Analyse, plan and co-ordinate data flows between systems while protecting the integrity of our data
You will work closely with your colleagues, key partners across the university, as well as with the director and other staff.

Requirements

You will be considered for this position if you:
  • have a bachelor degree, preferably in IT, data analytics, communication or business administration
  • a strong affiliation for technology and data analytics
  • have 1-5 years of experience in a client service environment
  • are motivated to work in higher education and to learn about alumni and corporate engagement
  • can write and speak fluently in English (B2) and Dutch (B2).

Your required competencies
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics
  • Experience with the Microsoft suite especially Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Word
  • Experience managing large datasets
  • Analyse common data quality issues and build sustainable solutions
  • Able to cultivate and maintain relationships and be customer-oriented
  • Excellent networking skills
  • 'Getting things done mentality'
  • Good communicator, meticulous and customer-friendly
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a dynamic, international environment

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 1 year.

The conditions of employment correspond with the collective labour agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU).

Salary is subject to training and experience and may vary from a minimum of € 2,968 up to a maximum of € 4,078 gross per month (scale 9 CAO NU), based on a full-time contract of 38 hours.

The role includes training and development in alumni engagement skills delivered by colleagues and via other professional training bodies such as CASE (Council for Advancement & Support of Education).

The Alumni Relations Team at the Erasmus University Rotterdam (EART) is connecting the global Erasmian alumni community: They coordinate and deliver engagement to build mutually beneficial relationships between alumni and the university, in partnership with faculties, institutions and other stakeholders.
