Job description

Mechanism of chromatin replication

Description of the project: Cells replicate their genome and its organization into chromatin before cell division. These processes are essential for life, and when faulty, they may lead to cancer. The molecular mechanisms for faithful genome and chromatin replication remain largely unclear. Our lab developed new biochemical methods to study these processes at the molecular level. We combine these tools with cellular and structural analyses to elucidate how cells duplicate their epigenome.

The postdoctoral fellow will focus on the structural and biochemical characterization of key machineries involved in chromatin assembly during DNA replication. We collaborate with Prof. F. Foerster and Dr. R. Scheltema at Utrecht University to obtain high-resolution structural information of these molecules and we leverage our biochemical expertise to understand its functional implications.
