Role

As coordinator within the Business Information Management MSc, you ensure that the programme runs smoothly for our international faculty and students. Are you socially oriented, a structured problem-solver and not afraid of a bit of administrative work? Then the position of programme coordinator might be for you!

Your main tasks
The BIM Programme Coordinator supports the Business Information Management section of RSM's department of Technology and Operations Management in a wide variety of projects. We're looking for a driven and internationally orientated programme coordinator to report to the Academic Director and work with different teams depending on the task. The coordinator provides professional administrative and programme support for RSM's master education programme, and for department operations. This may include organising events, scheduling, evaluations and coordination for faculty and students, and other tasks.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for BIM MSc programme and students
  • Coordinate the organisation of other courses (BSc & MSc) offered by the BIM section
  • Support teaching-related activities (e.g., hiring and managing teaching assistants, internships, scheduling)
  • Coordinate the recruitment of doctoral students and tenure-track candidates including advising candidates on programme requirements, managing candidate application materials and correspondence, and scheduling interviews between candidates and faculty members
  • Organise events such as introduction days, graduation ceremonies and conferences
  • Maintain the department's knowledge base on the policies and procedures related to education and be able to relay this information quickly and efficiently to students and staff
  • Maintain and improve websites, e-newsletters and social media

Requirements

The ideal candidate:
  • Has completed at least HBO or bachelor education; master level is a plus, or has professional and intellectual abilities that are equal to or greater than this
  • Is fluent in spoken and written English (C1.1 level) and preferably has some knowledge of Dutch
  • Has excellent written and oral communication skills;

Your required competencies
The successful candidate will:
  • Have excellent proactive problem-solving skills
  • Have excellent office organisational skills to meet competing project deadlines with attention to detail and quality work in a fast-paced environment
  • Be able to demonstrate experience working in an international team environment with ability to work independently within supervisory guidelines
  • Can interact and communicate efficiently with diverse stakeholders, from students to senior practitioners from various cultural and industry backgrounds
  • Have an affinity for and empathy with higher education and academic research
  • Be able to work with educational software like Osiris and Osiris, or is able to quickly learn the ins-and-outs of these systems
  • Preferably have demonstrated experience managing social media accounts, websites, business communication.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 12 months.

  • The position is currently defined at the level of programme coordinator, on initially a temporary basis (maximum two years).
  • About 50 per cent of work can be done remotely or from home.
  • We expect the successful candidate to start on 1 September 2022. An earlier starting date can be discussed
  • RSM is a research-led business school with seven academic departments, each with a distinct focus in research and teaching. The department of Technology and Operations Management (TOM) has a strong tradition in using, critically reviewing, and improving analytical and empirical research methods. You will join a strong community of 90 researchers and lecturers, including more than 40 PhD candidates studying information systems, supply chain management, and innovation management.
  • The BIM section has a large, young, and highly international faculty educated at renowned institutions in Europe, the USA, and Asia. We have a strong research and teaching tradition and an international orientation academically and business-wise.
The conditions of employment comply with the collective labour agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU). Favourable tax agreements may apply to non-Dutch applicants.

Salary is subject to training and experience and may vary from a minimum of €2960 (scale 10 CAO NU) gross per month and up to a maximum of €4670 (scale 10 CAO NU) gross per month, based on a full-time contract of 38 hours.
