Are you an enthusiastic cognitive neuroscientist with broad interdisciplinary interests? If so, we would be excited to have you as a member of our Brain and Cognition team.

Job description

Your position as assistant professor combines research, teaching, and administration.

Your research effort will be in the area of cognitive neuroscience. Within this area, your topic is free, although a focus on digitalization would nicely complement existing interests within the team. Most important is that you are excited about your research and can convey this enthusiasm to others. You are furthermore expected to further develop your research output and be active in submitting grant proposals. Previous successes in obtaining grants is an advantage. Importantly, you have demonstrated a commitment to the principles of open science (open access publications, open data, open materials, preregistration, replication).

You will teach two courses in the area of brain and cognition. Both courses are taught in the English language. The first is a first-year course on the body and the brain.  This is a basic course in our bachelor program. The second course is at the master’s level and is focused on cognitive neuroscience. This course can be tailored to your own research interests, so that students can optimally benefit from your domain expertise and enthusiasm for the topic. In addition, you will supervise bachelor and master’s theses in the domain of brain and cognition. Again, this can be tailored to your own research interests. The supervision of these theses will round out your teaching duties.

Third, you will have some administrative duties, although these will not be large at this stage of your career. You will likely be a member on one or two committees.
