Job description

As our Marketing & Communications Officer, you will be responsible for way EUC looks and feels across all communication. You will coordinate our marketing communication tools with current and prospective students. You will ensure our website is up to date and is attractive and oversee our social media presence, and plan for strategic advertising campaigns for our annual student recruitment campaigns.

As Marketing & Communications Officer you:

  • Coordinate and continuously improve all digital branding and communication, such as the EUC website, EUC social media content and emails to potential and prospective students via our CRM system.
  • Prepare publications such as leaflets and brochures, branding materials, etc. You will work closely with colleagues responsible for student recruitment and admissions to align messages and tone.
  • Will act as an EUC representative in relevant networks at our Faculty (ESSB) and across the rest of Erasmus University to ensure cooperation and connected planning.
  • Coordinate all communication with external suppliers such as printhouses, (online) advertising agencies, etc
  • Prepare longer-term strategic plans to identify the most appropriate media for specific target groups and prepare regular content and specific messages.
  • Monitor statistics and the performance across our digital media and all platforms and adjust content and messages as appropriate.
  • Seek input and feedback from current students on their experience of EUC communications, branding and reputation
  • Help prepare the presentations given to potential students at Open and Experience Days
  • Work with colleagues across EUC to continually improve internal and external communications – including with staff and existing students  
  • Coordinate and update EUC’s articles and events on the EUC/EUR intranet.

Requirements

Experience of providing administrative assistance is an essential requirement and previous experience in Higher Education would be an advantage.

We are seeking applicants that:

  • have relevant working experience in the field of Marketing and Communication – specifically Online Marketing at least at MBO+ (secondary vocational education) or higher degree level of thinking and working
  • are knowledgeable on the Dutch Education system (VWO and higher education) 
  • have advanced communication skills: you write easily and have an eye for the right visuals to go with that, and you can liaise and work with people at all levels.
  • You understand how to convey the right message to the right target group
  • Are confident in English and Dutch at least at C1 level in the CEFR in both languages and are completely at ease working in an international (educational) environment;
  • are highly creative yet meticulous in planning and organizing, with proven track record
  • are well able to work with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. More importantly, you know how to make good use of social media and you easily handle A/V equipment. You do not shy away from data systems as OSIRIS and CRM, and know how to use them well

Additional desirable skills/experience:

  • relevant working experience in Higher Educational institution
  • eager to learn new skills and personal development;
  • experience of Higher Education-specific software, eg. OSIRIS

Conditions of employment

A varied and exciting job in an enthusiastic team, with good working conditions in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU).

The start date of this position is February 2023, and you will be based at Erasmus University College in Rotterdam. The position is for 1fte. The salary is dependent on your experience and knowledge and ranges from a minimum of €2.818 to a maximum of €3.764 gross per month on a fulltime basis, in accordance with scale 8 of the CAO-NU. In addition, we offer an 8% holiday allowance, an end-of-year payment of 8.3%, and a very generous paid leave scheme.
