The main responsibilities of successful applicants will be:

Research funding acquisition at the national and European scale
Offering courses at the bachelor and master level in English
Supervision of students at all levels (BSc, MSc, PhD)
Applicants should fulfill the following main requirements:
Ph.D. degree in data science, artificial Intelligence , computer science, mathematics, , or a related field

Maastricht University requires teaching staff to have the “Basiskwalificatie Onderwijs” (BKO, Basic teaching qualification). Successful applicants who do not yet possess the BKO are expected to obtain this qualification preferably within the first year. Maastricht University and our department support its staff in obtaining the BKO.
The positions are offered as tenure-track positions for five years, with an evaluation and decision on tenure (guaranteed transition to permanent based on positive evaluation) during this period. Intended start date is as soon as possible.
Salary is competitive, depending on qualifications and work experience. The salary will be set in salary scale 11 of the collective labor agreement of the Dutch Universities, ranging from €3457 to €4757 for a full-time job. On top of this, there is an 8% holiday and an 8.3% year-end allowance. Non-Dutch applicants may be eligible for a favorable tax treatment (30% rule).
