The Research Technician will assist the PhD students and post docs and manage the laboratory of the Neuroimmunology research group:
• Immunohistochemistry on human post-mortem brain tissue
• Applying different microscopic techniques (light microscope, CLSM, STED)
• Gene expression analysis (qPCR, RNA seq)
• Isolation, in vitro culture and experimental usage of primary human glia cells
• Management of the laboratory of the IMM group
For this vacancy we are looking for a Research Technician with the following qualification:
• Strong interest in human brain research and MS
• Knowledge and experience with immunohistochemistry and imaging techniques
• Affinity with (primary) cell culture
• Team player
• Lab management skills
• Highly accurate
• Bachelor/Masters degree
Fixed-term contract: 2 years.
Contract of employment of 2 years with the possibility to a permanent position. Depending on education and relevant work experience, the gross monthly salary based on full-time employment varies between € 2.067 and € 2.791 gross per month (salary scale 7, 1.0 fte), in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU), excluding 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus. There are excellent fringe benefits.
