Job description

As a scientific programmer/(senior) data analyst you will conduct biomedical and clinical research in the Leiden Genome Technology Center (LGTC) through the analysis and interpretation of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data. You will develop and apply various analysis pipelines on large genome, exome and transcriptome data sets produced using advanced NGS technologies. You will contribute to the analysis and interpretation of data generated by novel single molecule and single cell NGS technologies such as the Pacific Biosciences Sequel platform and the 10x Genomics Chromium. Such projects can vary from characterizing full-length mRNA sequences to de novo characterization of fully phased variants in disease genes or de novo assembly and characterization of complex genomes or genomic regions. Other responsibilities include the integration of various omics datasets, such as exome-, transcriptome and chromatin immunoprecipitation sequencing data. This position will require and promote close collaboration with scientists from various fields.
