Job description

As a part of its Strategic Plan, the Faculty promotes multidisciplinary collaborations between psychology, sociology, pedagogy, educational sciences and teaching education in both teaching and research.

The Faculty has recently selected three broad research themes around which it wants to develop these multidisciplinary collaborations:
• Life-span learning and development
• Deficits, distress, disorders
• Individuals in society and organizations

We are currently looking for a postdoctoral researcher for the theme ‘Individuals in society and organizations’.

Within this theme we combine insights from sociology (norms and networks; institutions, organizations and sustainable cooperation), psychology (social psychology; organizational psychology; environmental psychology), pedagogics and educational sciences to approach the challenges people in modern society are facing. It is our goal to understand and tackle these major challenges, changes, and demands for resilience such as the rise of social tensions (e.g., terrorism, the influx of migrants, political polarization and protest, abusive leadership), the aging and diverse labour market, and climate change.

The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for developing this research theme together with current staff members. This includes bringing staff members together by organizing interdisciplinary meetings, workshops, and networking events; developing, conducting and publishing research relevant to this theme.

The postdoctoral researcher is expected to dedicate 80% of his or her time to research, and 20% to the administrative tasks of the research theme.

The postdoctoral researcher will be positioned in a research department that fits with their expertise and interests.
