Job description

As of 1 September 2018, Utrecht University School of Economics (U.S.E.) has a vacancy for a Junior Teacher. The Junior Economics Teacher will become part of the teachers' group of the Undergraduate School and will be responsible for teaching tasks in the Bachelor Programme. S/he will mainly teach tutorials related to courses in the first Bachelor year. In addition, the teacher will become the tutor of a group of freshmen students and be involved in the matching process and various extracurricular teaching-related activities. The selection of courses to teach will depend on one’s interest and background, but targeted courses are marketing, entrepreneurship, strategy and organization, financial accounting and corporate finance.

Requirements

A Master’s degree in Business Economics is the first requirement for the position of Junior Teacher. Candidates are expected to be able to function in a wide range of Business Economics and/or General Economics education in the Bachelor phase, which is fully taught in English. Therefore, we expect candidates to have excellent command of the English language. Candidates who are about to graduate are also welcome to respond to the vacancies.

Conditions of employment

U.S.E. offers a temporary appointment in an international working environment for two years, part-time or full-time. The salary ranges from €2,588 to €4,084 (scale 10 Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities) gross per month for a full-time employment. Salaries are supplemented with a holiday bonus of 8 % and a year-end bonus of 8.3 % per year. A favorable tax regime may apply for foreign applicants.
