Wageningen Environmental Research (WENR) is part of Wageningen University and Research and is the research institute for our green living environment. We offer a combination of practical and scientific research in a multitude of disciplines related to the green world around us and the sustainable use of our living environment. Flora and fauna, soil, water, the environment, geo-information and remote sensing, landscape and spatial planning, man and society: just a few of the numerous aspects of our green environment that WENR focuses on.
The vacancy is in Team Earth Observation and Environmental Informatics (EI). This is a multidisciplinary team of national and international top researchers in the areas of earth observation, integrated modeling, spatial analyses and eco-informatics. Research focuses on innovative spatial solutions for sustainable development, environment and land use, particularly in nature and agriculture. The team has a long track record in the domain of land monitoring, vegetation monitoring, phenotyping, crop monitoring in relation to global food security and sustainable developments, and is strategically placed in a number of international research networks focusing on questions of sustainable developments, food security, climate change, environmental resources and agricultural production. The research is complemented with a strong dedication to providing valuable societal impacts relevant to the wider stakeholder community.
