You will
- help in the design and preparation of the further development of the lab-classes and to prepare them for the future
- provide lab-classes in all majors of the bachelor programmes Biology and LST
- give lectures related to these lab-classes
- supervise bachelor projects.

Requirements

We seek candidates with:

- preferably a PhD degree (position 1) and a MSc degree (position 2) in life sciences
- experience in setting up lab-classes
- teaching and organizational experience appropriate to the career stage
- experience with modern molecular-biological techniques and bioinformatics
- excellent social and communicative skills.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 12 months.

The University of Groningen offers depending on level and experience a salary of:

Position 1: minimum € 3,475 and maximum € 4,757 (salary level 11 Dutch Universities) gross per month by a full-time appointment (UFO profile Teacher 3).

Position 2: minimum € 2,588 and maximum € 4,084 (salary level 10 Dutch Universities) gross per month by a full-time appointment (UFO profile Teacher 4).

The successful candidates will first be offered a temporary position of one year with the possibility for one year extension after a positive evaluation.

Faculty of Science and Engineering

The Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE) is with its size of over 1300 staff members, 5000 students, and over 800 PhD students the largest faculty of the University of Groningen. The Undergraduate School of Science and Engineering (USSE) is within FSE responsible for the education in the bachelor programmes and for the implementation of faculty and university policy regarding students and educational development.

The bachelor programmes Biology and Life Science and Technology (LST) are two of the bachelor programmes of the faculty and have been internationally highly valued in Life Science education. The programme has a yearly influx of about 300 students. From September 2018 onward, the programmes will be internationalised, which will cause an increase in number and diversity of students.
