Job description

Population aging is magnifying the global burden of cardiometabolic disorders and their consequences. Global cardiometabolic risk represents the overall risk of developing type 2 diabetes and/or cardiovascular diseases due to a cluster of risk factors. Development of clinically useful primary and secondary prevention strategies will require a more comprehensive understanding of these complex conditions. We aim to investigate the association of traditional and novel risk factors, representing of different pathophysiologic pathways, with cardiometabolic risk using population-based data. Besides contribution of various pathways, as well as their interactions, to form the natural course of cardiometabolic disorders, differences between women and men in these processes are of interest. A successful candidate will have an interest in population-based studies and analyses of large-scale epidemiological databases including the omics-based approaches.
