We offer

The interdepartmental research team Creative Economy is looking for a research explorer to set up a research track in the field of Future of City Museums and work closely together with the set-up of the future city museum of Eindhoven. 

What does “museum” mean today? How can we reinvent the way that heritage is meaningful for our present and future? How can a city be used as a stage for its own stories? How can new technologies and the discourse of local artists embody ”the voice” of a city? What kind of new business models will be sustainable in the cultural sector, when we break the traditional boundaries of what a museum is? 

This initial assignment should deliver the guidelines and plans for longer-term research that where the research explorer would/could play a nuclear role. This is particularly interesting for people who are looking for combining research work in the form of a PhD or a Post-Doc embedded with practice. Also, professionals from the Creative and Cultural Industries are welcome to apply.

We ask

• WO Level;
• Acquaintance with academic and practice-based research, and how to make it relevant for both practice and education environments;
• Experience in building partnership relationships and working in ecosystem;
• You are resourceful in connecting with the internal and external experts (having a network in academic research is an advantage);
• You are able to combine the research generated in lectorates into the TEC for Society (technology, entrepreneurship and creativity) narrative;
• You are able to operate on a strategic, tactic and operational level and you able to connect the three;
• Experience in writing funding proposals and translating research programme into organisation and budget structures.

Fixed-term contract: with the possibility to get an extension of the contract.

Salary scale : 12 - min. 4122,09 - max. 5301,29

End date : 15 augustus 2018
