Job description

The Entrepreneurship & Innovation section of the Amsterdam Business School (ABS) is looking for a lecturer in Entrepreneurship & Innovation.

The core tasks of the position are in teaching, but research also plays an important role and is encouraged and facilitated. Teaching will be at the graduate (MSc), executive and, especially, at the undergraduate (BSc) level, because of the need to expand teaching in the new BSc program. Research is aimed at international top journals, especially in the fields of entrepreneurship and innovation management.

The intended starting date will be 1 January or 1 September 2019, depending on the candidate's availability and the section's planning.

The appointee will be offered a position for two years, which can be extended with another two year contract. Salary will be in accordance with Dutch academic salary scales and include a pension scheme, and will range between €3,303 to €4,852 gross per month, dependent on experience and track record of the candidate. A substantial reduction in income tax (equal to 30% of taxable salary) may apply to non-Dutch candidates. The Collective Labor Agreement for Dutch Universities is applicable.

Amsterdam Business School (ABS)

The Amsterdam Business School (ABS) is part of the University of Amsterdam’s Faculty of Economics and Business. ABS Master in Business Administration was #1 ranked in 2016 and the school is internationally recognised and triple-crown accredited. It has around 3,000 full-time students and 120 FTE academic staff. One of the school’s core focus areas is the application of Data Science in all areas of business studies: Marketing, Finance, Operations Management, HR, Accounting and Strategy.

The Entrepreneurship & Innovation section conducts research and offers education in two interrelated management challenges: creating new businesses and realizing innovations. The research of the Entrepreneurship & Innovation section focuses on themes such as: entrepreneurship, careers & networks, marketing signals for innovative products, (digital) service innovation & growth, entrepreneurship & innovation in creative industries. Faculty members publish in international peer-reviewed journals including Organization Science, Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Management Studies, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, Journal of Management, and Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice.
