Department

Nijmegen School of Management
The Nijmegen School of Management (NSM) is an academic centre of research and higher education, focusing on institutional and managerial issues within complex organisations. There are seven disciplines within the NSM: Business Administration, Public Administration, Political Science, Economics and Business Economics, Social and Political Sciences of the Environment, Human Geography, and Spatial Planning. The NSM strives for a multidisciplinary approach whenever possible.

The Institute for Management Research (IMR) is NSM’s research institute. The institute’s research programme centres around governance and management of public and non-public organisations. IMR has an excellent position to further its mission (’Creating Knowledge for Society’) and aims at strengthening both its scientific excellence and relevance to society. To this end, IMR researchers collaborate extensively with academic and societal partners in projects, often externally funded (NWO, H2020), and commissioned research. For the further development of the IMR project portfolio and the institute’s viability, the IMR invests in supporting researchers and the NSM’s executive board. This support is coordinated by the IMR Research Services team.
The team (4.7 FTEs) is responsibility for grants advisory services, coordination of the doctoral school, development and implementation of research and valorisation policy, registration of research output for management information and quality control, research ethics, science communication (together with the Communication department) and secretarial support for the various bodies of the research institute. In all these fields, the team has an advisory role towards researchers, IMR’s director and NSM’s executive board. The team closely cooperates with the Communication department, HR and Financial department and with the central Innovation Unit (Radboud Innovation) and Strategy Unit.
